Before you can connect eClinicalWorks (eCW) to Keragon, your practice needs to add and activate the Keragon app inside your eCW EMR. This is a one-time setup. You do two short steps in eCW, and Keragon approves your practice in between.
Before you start
- You need an eCW admin user. The setup is done from the EMR's Admin menu.
- Contact Keragon support to get the Keragon App Activation Code.
- Have your practice name ready, exactly as it appears in eCW.
Step 1: Add the Keragon app in eCW
- Log in to the eCW EMR. From the Admin menu, click Product Activation.
- In the Product Activation window, find FHIR APIs and click Settings.
- On the FHIR APIs dashboard, click Set up to open Provider Centric Apps.
- On the Add New App tile, paste the Keragon App Activation Code and click Add.
The Keragon app now appears with the status Request Pending. This is expected: it stays this way until Keragon approves your practice.
Step 2: Let Keragon know
Contact Keragon support and tell us your practice name as it appears in eCW. We'll approve your practice on our side and let you know when it's done.
Step 3: Activate the app
- In the EMR, go back to Admin → Product Activation → FHIR APIs → Provider Centric Apps.
The Keragon app now has an Activate button. Click it.
- Give access to the Keragon app to every eCW user who will connect eCW to Keragon.
Note: eCW users who don't have access to the Keragon app can't sign in when connecting eClinicalWorks in Keragon.
That's it. Your practice is ready, and you can now connect eClinicalWorks in Keragon.
Troubleshooting
- The app still shows Request Pending. Keragon hasn't approved your practice yet. Make sure you've sent us your practice name (Step 2), or contact Keragon support to check the status.
- A user can't connect eCW in Keragon. Check that the user has been given access to the Keragon app in eCW (Step 3).
