How to Authenticate eClinicalWorks

Setup runs in two parts: 
You request an App Activation Code and add the Keragon app to your EMR, then the Keragon team approves your practice and sends your practice code. 
Once you receive that confirmation, you return to eClinicalWorks to activate the app and create your authentication in Keragon.

What You Will Need

• Administrator access to your eClinicalWorks EMR, specifically the Admin menu and the Production Activation window
• An active Keragon account

Step 1: Request the App Activation Code

1. Log in to your Keragon account at app.keragon.com
2. Open Get help and click Contact us here.
3. Enter "eCW authentication" as the Subject, and ask for the Keragon App Activation Code in the Description.
4. Click Submit.

The Keragon team will reply with the code. 

Step 2: Enable the Keragon App in eClinicalWorks

1. In eCW, open the Admin menu and click Production Activation.
2. Locate the FHIR APIs option and click Settings.
3. Click Set up on Provider Centric Apps.
4. Paste your App Activation Code into the Add New App tile and click Add.

The Keragon app now appears with the status Request Pending. It stays in this status until the Keragon team approves your practice.

Step 3: Inform Keragon That You Added the App

Reply on the support thread from Step 1 to confirm you added the app. Keragon team will proceed with the approval and, once completed, will advise and share your practice code. You will need this code in Step 5.

You cannot continue to Step 4 until you receive this confirmation.

Step 4: Activate the App

1. In eClinicalWorks, open the Admin menu and click Production Activation.
2. Locate the FHIR APIs option and click Settings.
3. Click Set up on Provider Centric Apps. 
4. The Keragon app now shows an Activate button. Click Activate.
5. Click User Configuration to enable access for the users who need it.

Step 5: Create Your Authentication in Keragon

1. Log in to your Keragon account at app.keragon.com
2. Go to Authentications and click Create New.
3. Search for eClinicalWorks and select it.
4. For Environment, select Production.
5. Enter the practice code Keragon team shared with you in Step 3.
6. Under Authentication flow, keep Simple (recommended) selected.
7. Click Connect.
