Prerequisites

Before connecting your Jotform account, ensure that:

  • You have an active Jotform account with at least one form created.

  • You have the necessary permissions to generate API keys.

  • You are aware of the correct account type

    • Enterprise,

    • US,

    • EU,

    • HIPAA.

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to connect your Jotform account to Keragon:

  1. Log in to your Jotform Dashboard.

  2. Click on your Profile Icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Navigate to Settings.

  4. In the left sidebar, click API.

  5. Click "Create New Key" to generate a new API key.

  6. Provide a name for the key and ensure you select "Full Access" under permissions.

    ⚠️ This is a crucial step. Without Full Access, the integration may not work correctly.

  7. Copy the generated API Key.

  8. Now, switch to Keragon:

    • Navigate to the "Authentications" tab.

    • Click "Create new" and select Jotform.

    • Select the correct Account Type:

      • If you have a HIPAA-compliant Jotform account, select HIPAA.

      • If unsure, check with your Jotform representative or the Jotform support team.

    • Paste the copied API Key into the corresponding field.

    • Click "Save" to complete the connection.

Note: Selecting the correct account type is critical. Using the wrong environment will lead to authorization errors.

Troubleshooting and Common Errors

Error Message Cause Resolution
E_TYPE_HIPAA_SAFE Your account is in HIPAA Safe mode, but you have configured another environment in auth. Create a new authentication and select HIPAA as the environment. 

Limitations and Notes

  • API keys with insufficient permissions will cause failures in automation workflows; always select Full Access.
